The Advantages and Disadvantages of Using LED Rope Lights

The use of LED rope lights is very common today. They can be easily seen everywhere such as on highways, in supermarkets, and in many workplaces. It is called as such because these are formed like ropes or strings in order to be able to provide illumination over a large area or location.

Currently, the price of LED rope lights is getting much lower than it used to be several years ago. These are distinct from the cheaper production of neon and incandescent light bulbs. The bulbs light from solid state sources and do not use filaments. LED rope lights give great benefits for commercial purposes. They are very durable and can be used for a period of ten years hence can be placed even in difficult areas where they can’t be easily replaced. Because of this, the cost of maintaining them becomes even lower. Traders use them due to their long physical life making them appealing for use in commercial establishments that need high-quality and stable light sources. The ropes are now utilized in place of the troublesome conventional lights because they emit very little or almost no heat.

However, consumers are still in a quandary whether to purchase this type of light for their needs or stay with cheap fluorescent lamps. The thing to consider is especially the lifetime. If you pay little less price for a single piece, but you are forced to buy several new pieces during the year, the sum of all costs will be much higher than to purchase higher quality product in the first place.

An additional benefit in the use of LED rope lights is that it can function on 12V therefore can be readily used in cars, private yachts, and any places where only a battery or other low voltage supply is available. When using the ropes in commercial advertisements, the cost is way lower than the use of the conventional lights hence utilizing them in the house or small store can be more practical.
